Laser Capabilities

Laser Options for Your Experiment

Vesta supports pulsed and continuous-wave lasers. The source and optics determine the available wavelength, power, and focused spot.

Vesta Laser Specifications
Laser TypesPulsed and continuous-wave (CW) lasers
Wavelength Range200-2,000 nm, depending on laser source and optical configuration
Laser Output Power200 mW single-mode to 25 W multimode, depending on source. These are laser-output values, not power delivered to the sample.
Onboard PulserPulse widths as short as 50 ns with compatible CW lasers
Pulser AvailabilityStandard on heating, EEGS, and optical-excitation systems
Focused Spot SizeLess than 10 micrometers single-mode; less than 100 micrometers multimode, at 12 mm working distance
Working Distance10, 15, 20, 25, or 30 mm; other options available
Multiple Laser SourcesMultiple laser sources can share one installation

Aether Software

One Interface for Vesta.

Align the optical path, position the probe, and operate installed lasers and spectroscopy devices from Aether. Hardware profiles, Python SDK access, and remote operation are available where enabled. EBIC has its own standalone software.

Coincident-point alignment

Use camera views, laser controls, motion, and acquisition tools to bring the optical spot to the region of interest.
